Guar Gum, CAS# 9000-30-0, is a galactomannan manufactured through grinding the endosperm of guar beans, available as white to yellowish-white, nearly odourless powder. Guar Gum is widely used as food thickening agent. It is widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries with E number E412.
1. Guar gum can cause gas production, diarrhea, and loose stools when ingusted in large amount. 2. Guar gum can cause blockage of the esophagus and the intestines when taken in large amount or not drinking enough water along with it.
As Guar Gum is widely known as safe, there is no limit on dosage of intake. However, we still recommend consumers to consult professionals before using large quantity of Guar Gum for long period.
