The general market of xanthan gum is still bad because of price competition between main manufacturers. The price has hit the bottom in January. However, As Chinese New Year is approaching, all main manufacturers will cease operation during the holiday season, so the price will definitely be raised in the coming February. Another fact is that we have been seeing significant price rise of upstream commodity-corn during the past several weeks. So there is not much space for manufacturers to cut the price. If you need to order xanthan gum and don’t want to wait for over 2 month to get a favorable price, it’s reasonable to order now.
