Yeast Extract, CAS# 8013-01-2, is a food additive manufactured through extraction from yeast, available as White-light yellow powder. Yeast Extract is widely used as flavour enhancer as it contains glutamic acid which has the same effect as monosodium glutamate in solution with sodium ions. It is affirmed by US FDA as GRAS(generally recognized as safe) and widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries.
